So I guess you’ve probably noticed it’s been a bit quiet around here of late.  There’s a good reason for that.  I am merging Shoot the Family with my business partners family photography business Fiona Carson Photography and both of those companies are merging with our wedding photography business, carsonhall photography.  Confused yet?  That’s ok, I think I just confused myself.  Thats not important though.  What’s important is that I (bec) and fiona will not only be shooting weddings together but we’ll be shooting everything together.  Exciting right!?!?!  We’ll photograph bellies and babies and kids and families and couples and weddings.  Of course all this change calls for a new name and branding so we will now be known as bec+fo.  You can check out our new website here where you’ll see both our work featured.  You may even see a few familiar faces over there.  Our gorgeous new logo was designed by the wonderful Netra of Netra Chetty designs and let me tell you, this woman is a saint!  We certainly put her through the wringer trying to come up with the bec+fo image but as you will see, she did a fantastic job.

To my previous clients, thank you for your business.  To my current clients, all bookings and purchases stay the same and  I can still be contacted at this email.  If you have a booking with me over the next few months, we’re still on so don’t panic!   To potential clients, if you’re interested in booking a shoot with bec+fo you can contact us at youplusus@becplusfo.com.au   We have a heap of very cool and different products on offer as well as customized family shoots and we’re overflowing with fun and crazy ideas.

OK people, prepare for what could very well be my biggest sneak peek EVER!

Today I photographed Thembi, Rod and their gorgeous, gorgeous children and oh lordy did we have a ball!  We had tents and chalkboards and birds and bear beanies.  We had sunshine and grass and beautiful weather.  We had style, perfection and beauty.  We pretty much had the perfect shoot.

Not only is this family beautiful on the outside, but on the inside they’re just as perfect.  Watching Rod and Thembi with their kids made me want to be like them.  They’re patient and funny and loving.  Watching Miss J, Miss I and Mr E with their mum and dad made me want to add them to my already huge family.  They’re cute and happy and fun.  Together, all five of them are pretty much a perfect unit and I am so glad that I got the chance to be a part of that, even if just for a few hours.

Guys, thank you so much for this afternoon.  I had high expectations for this shoot and not only did we fulfill them, we surpassed them.  I couldn’t be happier and I truly hope you are too.  Enjoy your very large preview

Remeber that location I found yesterday?  Yeah,  well let’s just say it may not have been as awesome as I first thought.  I knew there were mosquitoes there but living in Queensland, you learn to live with the little bloodsuckers.  Today was a different story though. They were everywhere and  I think I even ate a few.  We battled on though.  Tracey came prepared with repellant for the kids and they were real troopers.  Miss B even forgave me (eventually) for bowling her over as I backed away (ok, I ran backwards…fast!) from a huge orb spider.

Guys, thank you for this afternoon.   I’m so sorry that you probably need a blood tranfusion to recover from the mozzie bites but hopefully you’ll agree that it was totally worth it.

As the title says, I went location hunting with Blossy this afternoon and thought I would blog a few photos from our adventure.  Keep an eye out for tomorrows family shoot at the same spot.   I just know we’re going to have a ball.

Everyone is all about getting the babies photos and all those cute little toddler shots.  That’s great and everything, but let’s not forget the teenagers!  They may not think they need photos but pretty soon they’ll be moving out, traveling, going to Uni and the only time you’ll see them is when they need their washing done.  Before you know it the next lot of photos you have of them will be Wedding Photos (which I can also help you with by the way!  Head on over the carsonhall photography to check out my “other” job).

I thoroughly enjoy shooting teens and wish I got the opportunity to photograph more of them.  So if you have older kids please consider organizing a shoot for them.  We have a heap of fun and I promise they’ll enjoy it, no matter how much they’re convinced they won’t.  Just ask these guys from today’s shoot…
